Blas Music Festival

What a wonderful weekend of music we have had! The Blas Festival - Celebrating Highland music, started this weekend and I saw concerts in Achiltibuie and in Ullapool.
"Blas" is a Gaelic word meaning 'a taste' or 'a flavour' and the Festival gives a taste of the finest musicians in Scotland, promoting Highland music and culture.
In Achiltibuie we were treated to Fèis Rois Cèilidh Trailers, Rachel Newton and Back of the Moon. It was a fantastic evening of music. Back of the Moon are a wonderful band and had everyone singing and clapping along.
In Ullapool we saw the Fèis Rois Cèilidh Trail and Rachel Newton again and they were consistently brilliant, just as they were the evening before. The final act of the evening was the legendry Blazin' Fiddles. They have so much energy and passion for the music. They took the place by storm. Wonderful musicians and if you are a fan of fiddle music then please attend a concert close to you soon!
A great weekend of music and the weather was good enough to take to dog for a walk on Achnahaird beach on Saturday! Unfortunately the rain started Sunday morning. I think we have now officially entered Autumn in Achiltibuie :(

Dear Lindsay,

I visited Achilitibuie with my family about 8/9 years ago and I have many fond memories of wonderful, happy days. It was one of the best holidays of my life and I love the place with an enormous passion. I look forward to receiving my Christmas order every year and your newsletters remind me of many happy times spent.

Thank you to Keith for sending me a lovely picture of the Summer Isles for my PC - which I regularly look at! - and to you for creating these blogs to remember idyllic life away from the usual hustle and bustle.

Keep blogging and I'm looking forward to ordering and receiving another Christmas order!

Kind regards

Mrs Alison Forrester
